About the Argyle Public Library
The Argyle Public Library has been engaging, informing, and entertaining the Argyle, Wisconsin community since 1881. Located in the heart of the village, we offer a wide range of materials and services to meet the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of our community.
Our Mission
The mission of the Argyle Public Library is to provide quality materials and services which fulfill the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and businesslike.
What We Offer
The Argyle Public Library hosts a multitude of materials and opportunities, including:
- Books, magazines, audiobooks, and DVDs
- eBooks, audiobooks, and eMagazines through the Libby app
- Activity kits through the Library of Things
- Two public computers with high-speed internet access
- Free Wi-Fi throughout the library
- Access to licensed online resources and databases
- Programs and classes for all ages throughout the year
- A community room for groups and meetings
- Interlibrary loan access to 28 libraries in the Southwest Wisconsin Library System
Library Governance
The Argyle Public Library is governed by the Library Board of Trustees. The board meets monthly to oversee the operations and development of the library, improve library policies, appropriate funds, and offer community input on library services and direction.

Friends of the Argyle Public Library
The Friends of the Argyle Public Library is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by a group of Argyle library supporters and devotees. The Friends provide support for library projects, programs, and the library’s long-term goals.
