Rent a Room — Private Review

Rent a Room

The Argyle Public Library offers four rooms available for reservation by individuals, organizations, and community groups in the library service area: the Community Room, Business Room, Study Room 1, and Study Room 2. Review each room’s details below, check the availability calendar, and submit a reservation request using the form at the bottom of this page.

Submitting a reservation request does not guarantee your reservation. All requests are reviewed by Library staff, and you will be contacted regarding the status of your request. Library programming has first priority for all rooms. Reservations may be submitted up to 90 days in advance.

Room Details

Descriptions, capacity, amenities, rules, and cost for each room are below. Fields marked with a note are still awaiting confirmation from Library staff — nothing has been assumed or guessed.

Public Events in the Community Room

Approved public events held in the Community Room are free. A public event is a gathering that is open to members of the general public to attend — not a private, invitation-only function — such as a community meeting, a free class or workshop, a nonprofit information session, or a similar event that benefits the broader community.

To be considered a public event, your reservation must be marked as a public event on the request form, and you must provide a public event title. The Library reviews every public event request and must approve it before the event name appears on the public calendar or the event qualifies for the free public-event rate. Until approved, a reservation marked as a public event is treated as private on the calendar (shown only as “Reserved”) and is not yet confirmed as free.

Room Availability Calendar

Use the calendar below to check room availability before submitting your request. Filter by room to see only that room’s bookings, or view all rooms at once. To protect patron privacy, the calendar never displays renter names, contact information, or private event details — see the legend and privacy note below the calendar for exactly what is and isn’t shown.

Legend

  • Community Room
  • Business Room
  • Study Room 1
  • Study Room 2
  • Public Community Room Event
  • Unavailable (blocked by Library)

To protect patron privacy, reservation calendar entries show only the room and general availability. Renter names, contact information, and private event details are never shown. Only approved public Community Room events display an event name.

Reserve a Room

Complete the form below to request a reservation. Select the room you’d like to reserve as the first step of the form — the form’s room selector is the single place to choose your room; there is no separate room picker elsewhere on this page. Submitting this form does not guarantee your reservation. Your request will be reviewed by Library staff and you will receive a confirmation once it has been approved.

Your reservation is not confirmed until it has been reviewed and approved by Library staff.
